Safe and Effective
Botox Injections
Botox injections work by temporarily weakening or paralyzing certain muscles or by blocking certain chemical signals from nerves, mostly signals that cause muscles to contract.
What to expect
Botox injections are usually performed in a doctor’s office. Your doctor uses a thin needle to inject tiny amounts of botulinum toxin into your skin or muscles. The number of injections needed depends on many factors, including the extent of the area being treated.
Botox injections usually begin working one to three days after treatment. Depending on the problem being treated, the effect may last three months or longer. To maintain the effect, you’ll need regular follow-up injections.
Why Botox
Botox can treat conditions such as:
- Facial wrinkles
- Sagging neck and mouth corners
- Lazy eye / eye twitching
- Hyperhidrosis (severe underarm sweating)
- Cervical dystonia – severe neck and shoulder muscle contractions/spams
- Blepharospasm – uncontrollable blinking
- Strabismus – misaligned eyes
- Chronic migraine
- Overactive bladder

Botox Risks
Every procedure involves a certain amount of risk, and it is important that you understand the risks involved.
An individual’s choice to undergo a procedure is based on the comparison of the risk to potential benefit.
Although most patients do not experience these complications, you should discuss each of them with your medical aesthetic physician to make sure you understand the risks, potential complications and consequences of anti-wrinkles and filler injections.
