Lipolysis procedure is mild compared to most cosmetic treatments, and so far there have been no reports of severe adverse complications. However, patients usually experience:
- A mild redness and swelling of the skin occurs following the procedure which usually resolves within 3 to 5 days.
- Mild bruising also occurs and this usually resolves after 7 days
- Small lumps that are painless, invisible and transient
Rare complications:
- Nerve injury that can result in an uneven smile
- Difficulty swallowing after the procedure
Contraindications
- Pregnant women and breastfeeding moms
- Before and during menstruation
- Diabetics
- Patients with cardiovascular diseases
- Patients with certain allergies
- Patients who currently have or used to have malignant disorders
- Patients with blood disorders
- Patients with kidney diseases
- Obese patients
- Children
